The North Carolina Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission now requires applicants for temporary retail ABC permits to provide proof of Responsible Alcohol Seller/Server training PRIOR to obtaining a temporary ABC permit. Their website states: "The applicant will be required to provide proof of training. Acceptable proof of training may be in the form of a certificate of training, transcript or other document provided by the course provider or corporate permittee.

In addition, the NC ABC Commission also states on their website: "Businesses are encouraged to provide Alcohol Seller/Server training to their employees to prevent underage sales and irresponsible service to adults."
